Case Study

Elite Company ordered a new coffee mug design for an instant coffee brand with the slogan:
"ELITE COFFEE, the taste that I love and know".
The goal of the design process was a mug which
would represent the brand's values.

 

The design process started with a research into the different types of coffee mugs.
This led me to the realization that many of the mug's handles resembled the shape of 'half a heart'. The design process continued with the duplication and reflection of the handle's inner space, and subtracting it from the mug's body in order to achieve the shape of a full heart.
   
 
The shape of the full heart which is created in the mug's two dimensions
(the face view and side view) And the fact that this form emerged out of an existing and known handle shape contains the values of the "loved and known" brand and represents its identity.
